Multiple shadows of people raising their hands.

The Greene County Board of Commissioners is currently seeking applicants to fill the District 4 seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission. This appointment is to serve the remainder of an unexpired term, which runs through April 2026.

The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for reviewing zoning-related matters such as rezoning requests, conditional uses, and variances. The Commission conducts public hearings on these issues and provides recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room, located at 1034 Silver Drive in Greensboro.

District 4 residents interested in serving are encouraged to complete a Candidate Questionnaire. Ideal candidates will have some background, experience, or education related to planning or zoning, as well as a genuine interest in the well-being of Greene County and its future. Candidates should be thoughtful, community-minded, and committed to dedicating the time and energy necessary for this important role.
